Level 2's food court is the main event — Juan Valdez for coffee, Crepes & Waffles, a few burger joints, and a 24-hour convenience store for late-night snacks. Beer, a cozy pub near check-in, serves bar food and drinks on tap if you want something more relaxed before you fly.
Shops & Lifestyle Stores
Duty-free covers the basics for international travelers, alongside a handful of clothing, gourmet food, book, and souvenir shops — nothing sprawling, but enough to grab a last-minute gift or Colombian coffee to take home.
Lounges / Relax Spots
The Lounge Medellín International (Level 2, between Gates 10–11) is open 24/7 with showers — a solid choice for red-eye flights. Avianca Sala VIP and The Lounge Medellín serve the National Terminal crowd with quieter, comfortable seating and free snacks.
Other Activities
This isn't a big entertainment airport, but the digital flight displays throughout the terminal make it easy to track gate changes while you relax with a coffee.

Suggested Layover Itineraries
3-hour layover (airport only): Grab a famous Juan Valdez coffee, browse duty-free after security and settle into a lounge near your terminal.
5–6 hour layover: Not enough time to comfortably reach Medellín and back given the 45-minute drive each way plus security — better to enjoy the airport lounges and food court instead.
8+ hour layover: With the Túnel de Oriente cutting travel time to 20–30 minutes, a half-day trip into El Poblado for lunch and a walk is realistic — just build in a solid buffer for the return trip and Migración Colombia queues if you're re-entering internationally.
